¯ CHAUTAUQUA — On June 29 at roughly 2:14 a.m., deputies were called to a vehicle in the ditch on Chautauqua Stedman Road. Upon arrival, deputies identified the driver as Benjamin L. Eckstrom, 25, of Sugar Grove, Pa. Eckstrom was allegedly found to be intoxicated and was taken into custody. Eckstrom was charged with DWI, aggravated DWI and moved from lane unsafely. After processing, Eckstrom was released with traffic tickets and will appear in Town of Chautauqua Court at a later date.

¯ SHERMAN — On July 6 at about 12:31 a.m., deputies were called to Waits Corners Road for a property damage accident. Upon arrival, the operator of the involved vehicle was identified as Maddison J. Howard, 22, of Jamestown. Howard was allegedly found to be intoxicated and was taken into custody. Howard was charged with DWI and aggravated DWI. After processing, Howard was released with traffic tickets and will appear in Town of Sherman Court at a later date.

¯ FRENCH CREEK — On July 7 at around 3:36 a.m., deputies were called to a motor vehicle accident on Canterbury Drive. Upon arrival, deputies identified the driver as Timothy L. Sawyer, 27, of Ripley. Sawyer was allegedly found to be intoxicated, taken into custody and charged with DWI. Sawyer also reportedly refused a breath test and was held at Chautauqua County Jail, pending arraignment. Sawyer will appear in Town of French Creek Court at a later date.

¯ GERRY — On Sunday at around 2 a.m., deputies responded to reports of an altercation on Route 60 in the town of Gerry. It is alleged that Robert L. Gardner Jr., 50, of Gerry, struck another individual, as well as obstructed the breathing of said individual. Gardner was charged with second degree harassment and criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, taken into custody and transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment.
