GOWANDA — On July 17 at roughly 9:54 p.m., the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office reported the arrest of James D. Luder, 48, of Gowanda, on a felony violation of probation warrant, issued out of Cattaraugus County Court. Luder was transported to Cattaraugus County Jail, where he will appear in court on a later date.

≤ POLAND — On July 16 at roughly 9:30 p.m., deputies charged Alicia C. Tanner, 23, of Kennedy, with fourth-degree criminal mischief. The charge stems from an incident that was reported on May 10, 2019, in which it was found that Tanner had allegedly punctured the tire of another individual. Tanner was issued an appearance ticket and will appear in Town of Poland Court at a later date.

≤ SILVER CREEK — On July 21 at around 12:55 a.m., deputies stopped a vehicle on Central Avenue for an alleged traffic violation. The operator was identified as Brian A. Panikowski Jr., 31, of Dunkirk. Through investigation, it was determined that Panikowski Jr. was operating his vehicle while intoxicated. Panikowski Jr. was taken into custody and charged with DWI, DWI per se, failure to stop at stop sign and speed in zone. Panikowski Jr. will answer the charges in Village of Silver Creek Court at a later date.

Brocton man gets in double-trouble

BROCTON — On July 19 at approximately 2 p.m., deputies observed Paul R. Dunn III, 36, of Brocton, on East Main Street, who had an active warrant out of Town of Portland Court for failure to appear on a second-degree criminal trespass charge. Dunn III was taken into custody without incident and was transported to Chautauqua County Jail awaiting arraignment using centralized arraignment.

A separate investigation involving Dunn III was also being conducted by the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Division, regarding a petit larceny charge out of Village of Westfield Court. Dunn III allegedly cashed a stolen check in Westfield that was taken from a residence in the Village of Brocton. Dunn III will also be arraigned at Chautauqua County Jail on the petit larceny charge, using centralized arraignment.
