Altercation served up with coffee leads to charges

ELLERY — Deputies did not even get asked if they wanted cream and sugar after a physical altercation in the town that led to charges against a Bemus Point woman.

At around 7 p.m. Thursday, Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence in the town. Upon arrival it was found that Sally M. Lawson 62, punched another individual several times in the face. While deputies were interviewing Lawson she threw hot coffee on them.

Lawson was taken into custody and charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration and two counts of second-degree harassment.

¯ A Fredonia man is facing driving while intoxicated charges after his vehicle was stopped by Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies.

At around 7:16 p.m. Thursday on Route 20 in the town of Pomfret, officers observed a traffic violation. An investigation found the operator of the vehicle, Corey M Newlon, 32, was operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

Newlon was charged with aggravated DWI, DWI per se, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle and speed in zone. Newlon was released with appearance tickets and is to appear in the Town of Pomfret Court at a later date.

• A Forestville man was charged after a motor-vehicle crash on Sept. 27 in the town of Pomfret.

Deputies, along with Fredonia Police, responded the incident on Route 20 around 9 p.m. Deputies identified the operator of the involved vehicle to be Tyler Grisanti, 22. He was transported by Fredonia Ambulance to Brooks Hospital for treatment of his injuries. Following further investigation into the incident, Grisanti was charged with DWAI combination of drugs, move from lane unsafely and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. Grisanti will answer his charges in Pomfret Town Court.

≤ SHERIDAN — A Fredonia resident has been charged with driving while intoxicated.

On Oct. 5 at about 2:32 a.m., sheriff’s deputies observed a vehicle to be speeding on Route 20 in the town. Deputies stopped the vehicle and identified the operator to be Brandyn M. Lambe, 28. Following an investigation into the incident, deputies charged Lambe with DWI, DWI per se and speed in zone.

Lambe will answer his charges in Sheridan Town Court.

≤ MINA — A Panama man is facing driving while intoxicated charges after an Oct. 5 incident.

At about 11:15 p.m., sheriff’s deputies observed a vehicle to be traveling on Hazen Road in the town inadequate tail lamps as well as an expired registration. Deputies stopped the vehicle and identified the operator to be Brandon Marotto, 2. Following an investigation into the incident, deputies also charged Marotto. He will answer his charges in Mina Town Court.

¯ Colton Farnham, a fugitive from justice wanted for an out-of-state drug crime, was picked up Sept. 30.

¯ Matthew Cassatt was charged Sept. 30 with second degree harassment.

¯ Ryan Falco was charged Sept. 30 with petit larceny.

¯ Dann Mulatillo was picked up on a warrant Oct. 2.

¯ Jeremiah Duffy was charged Oct. 2 with second degree harassment and second degree unlawful imprisonment.

¯ Alseny Barry was charged Oct. 6 with criminal impersonation and unlawful possession of marijuana.

¯ Lucas Devita was charged Oct. 6 with unauthorized use or possession of a license and fraudulent obtaining of alcohol by a person less than 21 years old.

¯ Michael Neenon was charged Oct. 6 with a sewer ordinance violation.

¯ Steven Artymowycz was charged Oct. 6 with a sewer ordinance violation.

¯ Andrew Cowan was charged Oct. 6 with a noise ordinance violation.

¯ Hayleigh Sanchez was charged Oct. 7 with second degree harassment.

¯ Joseph Angelo was charged Oct. 7 with second degree harassment.

¯ Carol-Joyce McNamara was charged Oct. 7 with second degree harassment.

¯ Jesse Marble was charged Oct. 8 with third degree aggravated unlicensed operation. Additionally, police found he was wanted on a warrant from Texas.
