The Chautauqua County sheriff’s department made a number of driving while intoxicated arrests. Those reported include:

¯ MINA — Deputies stopped a vehicle for speeding and crossing the center line of the road on Route 426 around midnight Saturday. The operator was identified as Mark L. Moore, 64, and an investigation found him to be intoxicated.

Moore was taken into custody and after processing was released with traffic tickets. Moore will appear in town of Mina court at a later date to answer charges of driving while intoxicated, diving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or greater, failure to keep right and speed in zone.

¯ MINA — Deputies responded to a property damage motor vehicle accident on Route 430 in the town around 3:30 a.m. Saturday. The operator of the vehicle was identified as Halli J. Buchanan and was found to be intoxicated.

Halli J. Buchanan of Jamestown was taken into custody. A criminal history check showed that Halli J. Buchanan had a prior conviction for driving while intoxicated with in the past 10 years making this arrest a felony. Buchanan was held at Chautauqua County Jail pending arraignment.

Buchanan will be in town of Mina Court at a later date to answer charges of felony driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or greater and moved from lane unsafe.

¯ FRENCH CREEK — At about 10:53 p.m. Saturday, deputies observed a vehicle being operated on French Creek Mina Road in the town. Deputies also observed that the vehicle failed to signal multiple turns.

Deputies stopped the vehicle and made contact with the operator who was identified as David J. Weschler, 36, of Waterford, Pa. David Weschler was found to be intoxicated and was taken into custody. After processing David Weschler was released with traffic tickets. David Weschler will appear in Town of French Creek Court at a later date to answer charges of driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .08% or greater and fail to signal turn.

¯ BUSTI — At about 8:02 p.m. Friday, deputies stopped a vehicle on Baker Street Extension for having no tail lights. The operator was identified as Derek P. Smith, 57, of Ashville and investigation found him to be intoxicated. Smith was taken into custody and after processing was released with traffic tickets. Smith will be in Town of Busti Court at a later date to answer charges of driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .08% or greater and no or insufficient tail lights.

¯ SILVER CREEK — Around 2:34 a.m. Saturday, deputies stopped a vehicle in the village for an alleged traffic violation. Through investigation, deputies discovered the vehicle’s operator Jason M. Kovel, 20, of Cheektowaga was operating the vehicle while intoxicated. Kovel was taken into custody and charged with DWI, DWI per se, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, improper or unsafe turn without signal, and passed red signal. Kovel was released with tickets to appear in the village court at a later date.
