Hanover man charged in 2018 rape

HANOVER — A 21-year-old town man has been charged in a December 2018 rape.

In December 2018, the Chautauqua County sheriff’s office received the report of an incident that had occurred in the town. After an investigation, Dakota Fisher of King Road was charged with second-degree rape and two counts of a second-degree criminal sexual act.

On Thursday, Fisher was brought to the Chautauqua County Jail where he will be arraigned by the Centralized Arraignment Program.

¯ On Oct. 14, troopers out of the Jamestown station arrested Ryan Layton, 36, of Erie, Pa., for seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second degree unlawful possession of marijuana.

The troopers pulled over a vehicle on Interstate 86 in Kennedy for speeding and while speaking to the occupants, the troopers smelled marijuana inside the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle and its occupants, Layton was found to be in possession of five Adderall pills, an unmarked bottle containing marijuana vegetation and a pipe containing burnt marijuana. The driver was issued a traffic ticket and released. Layton was placed under arrest, processed at the Jamestown station and transported to the Chautauqua County Jail.

¯ On Sept. 11, the Chautauqua County Criminal Investigation Division was investigating a past tense burglary complaint. As a result of the investigation, it was found that Jennifer Fain, 33, of Jamestown possessed stolen property from that burglary. Fain was issued an appearance ticket for fifth degree criminal possession of stolen property and will appear in Jamestown City Court.
