Frewsburg man facing drug charges

RANDOLPH — A Frewsburg man is facing drug charges after his vehicle was found off the road on Cemetery Hill in this town.

Cattaraugus County sheriff’s deputies reported Saturday morning that Dylan M. Wier, 32, of Pierce Run Road, was found to be in possession of two hypodermic syringes and a small amount of heroin after they received a call of the vehicle in distress around 4:30 p.m. Thursday. Deputies charged Wier with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument.

Wier was released and is due back in Randolph town court at a later date.

¯ SHERIDAN — A Buffalo man whose vehicle was found in the area of Routes 20 and 39 is facing charges.

At about 1:40 a.m. Sunday, Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies investigated the suspicious vehicle, located it and charged Robert J Cochrane, 53, with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation.

Cochrane was released with appearance tickets to the custody of Jamestown Police Department due to him having outstanding warrants.

¯ BROCTON — A village man was charged with driving while intoxicated after deputies conducted a check of a suspicious vehicle at a local business.

While investigating the suspicious vehicle, another unrelated vehicle stopped at this location around 3 a.m. Friday. After speaking with the driver of the second vehicle it was determined that the driver, Edward H. Wood, 61, was operating the vehicle while intoxicated.

Wood was taken into custody and charged with DWI, refusal of prescreen breath test, and holding more than one state license.

Wood was later transported to the Chautauqua County Jail and remanded pending CAP Arraignment.
