¯ On Feb. 21, troopers out of Jamestown arrested Eric Goodlow, 49, of Jamestown, for petit larceny.

The Troopers responded to the Turtle Pit Cafe & Smoke Shop in Steamburg for a larceny in progress. Goodlow was found with unpurchased cigarettes and a flashlight in his possession, totaling just under $90. The merchandise was returned to the complainant, undamaged. Goodlow was placed under arrest, transported to SP Jamestown and processed. Goodlow was released with an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the town of Coldspring Court next month.

¯ On Feb. 25, troopers out of Jamestown arrested Sean Reardon, 58, of Ashville, for felony driving while ability impaired by drugs, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and possession of controlled substances by ultimate users original container.

Reardon was pulled over on Route 474 in Ashville for traffic violations and after failing several field sobriety tests, Reardon was placed under arrest. Upon searching Reardon, five suboxone strips were located inside his wallet. Reardon was transported to SP Jamestown where he was evaluated by a New York State Police Drug Recognition Expert. As Reardon’s driving record revealed a DWAI conviction within the preceding 10 years, the charge was upgraded to a felony. After securing a blood sample from Reardon at UPMC Hospital in Jamestown, Reardon was transported back to SP Jamestown where he was processed and issued traffic and appearance tickets. Reardon is scheduled to appear in the town of North Harmony Court on a later date to answer the charges.

¯ On Feb. 27, troopers out of SP Jamestown arrested Dean Walters, 29, of Conewango Valley, for first-degree criminal contempt and second-degree harassment.

The troopers responded to a residence in Conewango Valley for a report of a domestic incident. Investigation revealed that during an argument, Walters pushed the victim on the ground, in violation of a stay-away order. Walters was located at a residence in Randolph and placed under arrest. Walters was then transported to SP Jamestown, processed and issued appearance tickets. Walters is scheduled to appear in the town of Conewango Court next month.

¯ On Feb. 29, troopers out of SP Jamestown arrested Shane Eshbach, 29, of Jamestown, for two counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of tampering with physical evidence, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, two counts of seventh-degree criminal counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia.

Eshbach was pulled over for committing a traffic violation on Route 60, during which time he immediately exited and walked to the front of the vehicle. Investigation revealed that Escbach hid a bag containing 10 grams of heroin and a bag containing six grams of methamphetamine into the snowbank. A search of Eshbach’s vehicle revealed a pipe containing methamphetamine residue, a modified straw containing heroin residue and a bag containing multiple glassine envelopes. Eshbach’s driving record revealed that his privileges in New York had been revoked, totaling 23 suspensions or revocations. Eshbach was placed under arrest, transported to SP Jamestown and processed. Eshbach was then transported to the Chautauqua County Jail.

¯ On March 1, troopers out of Jamestown arrested Patricia McIntosh, 51, of Kirtland, Ohio, for seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of controlled substances by ultimate users original container.

The Troopers pulled over a vehicle on I-86 in Stow for speeding. During the traffic stop, passenger McIntosh was found to be in possession of an Alprazolam pill for which she did not have a prescription. McIntosh was placed under arrest, processed at SP Jamestown and issued appearance tickets. McIntosh is scheduled to appear in the town of North Harmony Court later in the month. The driver was issued a speeding ticket.

¯ On March 1, Troopers out of SP Jamestown arrested William Purdy, 31, of Jamestown, for two counts of second-degree harassment, trespass and resisting arrest.

The troopers responded to a residence in Conewango Valley for a report of a domestic incident. Investigation revealed that during an argument, Purdy struck one of the victims with a closed fist and threatened harm to both victims, including threats to burn the residence down. Purdy refused to leave the residence upon instruction but fled when the police were called. The troopers confirmed that Purdy was also wanted by the Jamestown Police Department on an outstanding warrant and shortly afterward located Purdy walking on Route 62. Purdy fled from the troopers but was taken into custody after a foot pursuit. Purdy was processed at SP Jamestown, arraigned in the town of Conewango Court, and turned over to Jamestown Police Officers.

¯ On March 1, troopers out of SP Jamestown arrested Andrew Ashdown, 19, of Jamestown, for driving while intoxicated.

Ashdown was pulled over on I-86 in Falconer for a traffic violation and after failing several field sobriety tests, Ashdown was placed under arrest. Ashdown was transported to SP Jamestown where he provided a breath sample of .14. Ashdown was then processed, issued tickets and released. Ashdown is scheduled to appear in the town of Poland Court later in the month.

¯ SHERIDAN — On Feb. 23, James E. Stuart, 27, of Wright City, Okla., was arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI, blood alcohol content greater than .18%, fail to keep right, moving from lane unsafely, speed in zone, and operating a motor vehicle while using an electronic device.

At about 2:53 a.m., deputies observed a vehicle commit several lane violations as well as traveling well in excess of the posted speed limit on Route 20 in the Town of Sheridan. Deputies stopped the vehicle and identified Stuart as its operator. Following further investigation into the incident, deputies arrested and charged Stuart. He will answer his charges in Sheridan Town Court.

¯ SHERIDAN — On Feb. 23, Nilsa Rivera, 56, of Silver Creek was arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated, speed in zone, and refusal of pre-screen breath test.

At about 1:03 a.m., Sheriff’s deputies observed a vehicle to be speeding on Route 20 in the Town of Sheridan. Deputies stopped the vehicle and identified the operator. Following an investigation into the incident, deputies arrested and charged Rivera, she will answer her charges in Sheridan Town Court.

¯ HANOVER — On Feb. 23, Joseph F. Oshei, 45, of Chaffee was arrested for alleged felony driving while intoxicated, felony aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree, operating out of ignition interlock restrictions, aggravated driving while intoxicated blood alcohol content .18 or higher, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, and unlicensed operator.

At around 7:02 p.m., Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a vehicle complaint in the Town of Hanover for a report of a vehicle stuck in a yard. Upon arrival deputies located the vehicle in the yard and upon further investigation found that the operator of the vehicle, Oshei, was operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. Oshei was also found to have revoked New York State Driver’s License. Oshei was arrested and charged and released on his own recognizance, to appear at the Town of Hanover Court at a later date.
