Cherry Creek man accused of meth possession

CHERRY CREEK — A town resident has been charged with having methamphetamine after a traffic stop earlier this week by state troopers.

New York State Police report Gregory Schroeder, 38, of Cherry Creek was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance after a traffic stop on State Route 83 on Wednesday. During the investigation of the stop, the Troopers observed in plain view what appeared to be a clear bag of crystal methamphetamines on the front passenger seat. While Schroeder was taken into custody by the troopers, he was found in possession of another bag of crystal methamphetamines on his person. Schroeder also was arrested for second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and other vehicle violations.

He was released on an Appearance Ticket and Traffic Tickets to appear in Cherry Creek Town Court in June.

Woman accused of violating order of protection

GERRY — On Monday State Police arrested Elizabeth Barker, 27, on charges of first-degree criminal contempt.

Troopers responded to a domestic dispute at a residence in Gerry. While investigating the incident, it was revealed that there was allegedly an order of protection directing Barker to stay away from the victim.

Barker was placed under arrest and charged based on a prior criminal contempt conviction. She was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the town of Gerry Court on a later date.
