911 calls lead to charges

ELLERY — Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies responded to Belleview Road on Sunday at 4:45 p.m. for a report of aggravated harassment. Upon further investigation, deputies determined that Sally Lawson, 63, of Bemus Point, called Chautauqua County 911 dispatch center in excess of 100 times for no legitimate purpose.

Lawson’s calls included threats of violence and death towards 911 dispatchers and responding deputies. Lawson was issued an appearance ticket for her actions and will appear in Town of Ellery Court at a later date.

New York State Police at Jamestown

STOW — Troopers charged Ryan Yaple, 21, of Tampa, Fla., with driving while intoxicated.

Yaple was pulled over on I-86 in Stow for speeding and after failing several sobriety tests, Yaple was placed under arrest. Yaple was transported to Jamestown where he provided a breath sample of 0.11. Yaple was then processed, issued tickets and released. He is scheduled to appear in the town of North Harmony Court on a later date.

CONEWANGO VALLEY — Troopers charged William Purdy, 32, of Jamestown, for driving while ability impaired by drugs and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and Holly Mooney, 31, of Sinclairville, with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia.

Purdy was pulled over for a traffic violation on Route 62 in Conewango Valley and after failing several sobriety tests, Purdy was placed under arrest. Further investigation revealed that Purdy was in possession of a bag containing methamphetamine and Mooney was in possession of a pipe containing methamphetamine residue and a digital scale containing residue. Purdy and Mooney were transported to Jamestown where Mooney was processed, issued tickets and released.

Purdy was evaluated by a New York State Police Drug Recognition Expert and determined to be impaired. After securing a blood sample from Purdy at UPMC Hospital, Purdy was processed and issued traffic tickets and an appearance ticket. Both Purdy and Mooney are scheduled to appear in the town of Conewango Court on a later date to answer the charges.

SILVER CREEK — At about 7:40 p.m. Sunday, deputies conducted a warrant check at a residence in the village. Within the residence deputies located Lawrence B. Mosandel, 68, of Silver Creek. Mosandel was wanted by the village court on four counts of second-degree criminal contempt. He was arrested and turned over to the Chautauqua County Jail for arraignment.
