CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

¯ SILVER CREEK — On June 17, deputies responded to an address for a past tense criminal mischief complaint. Upon arrival, damage to a recently poured concrete pad was observed. Through an investigation it was determined that Chelse L. Wilcox, 38, of Hanover caused said damage. She was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and is to appear in the Town of Hanover Court at a later date.

¯ MINA — At about 4:40 a.m. June 17, deputies were called to a residence on Bailey Hill Road for a suspicious vehicle parked at the end of the resident’s driveway. Upon arrival, deputies located the vehicle and observed the driver slumped over behind the wheel with the engine still running.

Deputies were able to make contact with the driver and he identified himself as Martin L Winkler from Erie, Pa. Further investigation alleges that Winkler, 25, had been operating the vehicle in an intoxicated state and pulled into the driveway at the residence.

Winkler was subsequently arrested and charged with DWI and DWI per se. Winkler was transported to Mayville for processing and released with citations. He is scheduled to be back in Mina court later.

CATTARAUGUS COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

¯ DAYTON — Around 8:15 p.m. Monday, Dennis C. Weaver, 23, of South Dayton was charged with third-degree unlawful fleeing of a police officer, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and multiple vehicle and traffic violations stemming from a vehicle pursuit. Patrol attempted to stop Weaver for a violation before he fled. Officers pursued him for a brief period, but discontinued the chase due to the reckless nature of Weaver’s driving.

He was located by another officer in the village of Gowanda and taken into custody. He will be in town court later.
