Local photographer earns craftsman degree

RIPLEY – Stephanie Cunningham CPP of Cunningham Photography in Ripley has earned the photographic craftsman degree from Professional Photogra-phers of America.

The degree was presented to Cunningham by PPA president Ralph J. Roma-guera Sr., M. Photog., Hon. M. Photog. Cr., CPP, API, F-ASP, with Cunningham’s sister Cynthia Faulhaber-Bowers acting as her sponsor, at the association’s annual convention, Imaging USA, held Jan. 12-14 in Phoenix, Ariz.

This degree means that she has met the standards of excellence set by PPA. Cunningham has been awarded the photographic craftsman degree in recognition of her service to the photographic profession as an orator, author and mentor.

Cunningham’s degree – and all the expertise it requires – illustrates her accomplishments and talent as one of a select few. She was also invited to join the prestigious American Society of Photographers. ASP is a society of professional photographic artists who aspire to maintain the highest level of excellence by adhering to ethical standards, stimulating creativity and continually refining technical competence. The goal of the organization is to promote education, foster fellowship and perpetuate the ideals of the photography as a science and an art.

Locally, Cunningham is serving her fourth term as president of the Southwest-ern New York Association of Professional Photographers. She is also working to complete the requirements for the PPA degree master of photography.
