WCA Home hires Barbara Jones as new activities director

The WCA Home, staff and residents are pleased to welcome Barbara Jones as the Home’s new activities director.

Jones was born in Warren, Pa., raised in the Silver Creek area, graduated from Silver Creek High School and continues to reside in Silver Creek. Jones graduated from the Marjon School of Beauty and continues to be owner and operator of her own beauty shop, specializing in providing services to area senior citizens for the last 30 years.

In 2013, Jones graduated at the head of her class from Jamestown Community College with a degree in human services, was named Student of the Year and a member of the National Honor Society. Jones is no stranger to the WCA Home as she interned at the Home in 2013 as part of her degree program.

Not one to sit around, Jones works out on a daily basis and says that she has a terrific friend support system that keeps her going.

Jones has a sense of enthusiasm that she brings with her to learn her new position and help it develop with creating a strong network of volunteers. She says that her impression of the WCA Home is one of a “homey atmosphere” where all residents are well cared for and shown dignity and respect.
