DrugsBUFFALO — Valu Home Centers presented Kids Escaping Drugs with a check for $32,180 during a live televent. The televent, broadcast from the KED Renaissance Campus, is an annual event that raises money and awareness for the work of Kids Escaping Drugs.

The Valu donation was generated from funds collected in the Western New York area during the eighteenth annual Make A Change campaign. For six weeks, Valu’s cashiers asked customers to round up their purchase or drop their spare coins in a collection bin to help make a difference in the life of a young person in the communities that they serve. 100% of these donations will support the treatment and prevention of substance abuse in children and teens. Valu Home Centers is happy to cover all administrative costs and associated fees from this fundraising campaign to ensure that every penny of your contribution goes directly to young people in need.

“Valu’s philosophy is to give where you live, and we’re excited to give back to this community that has supported us over the years.” President and CEO Michael Ervolina Jr. explained with pride.

Valu Home Centers would like to express their sincere gratitude to their generous customers who support the Make A Change campaign each year by donating to very worthy organizations like Kids Escaping Drugs. Valu would also like to thank their media partner WGRZ – Channel 2, Buffalo for their support of this campaign.

Funds collected during the Make A Change campaign outside of Western New York benefit local chapters of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, so all donors give where they live. Valu Home Centers is committed to giving back to the neighborhoods that they serve and is proud to support the work of these outstanding community assets.
