RTPI’s ‘Art After 5’ series begins June 14

JAMESTOWN — The Roger Tory Peterson Institute of Natural History (RTPI) invites the community to celebrate the warm weather with a series of ‘Art After 5’ adult gatherings from 5-7 p.m. on four different evenings throughout the summer: June 14, July 10, Aug. 2 and Sept. 6. Guests to these events will enjoy live music on our patio, appetizers, wine and brief tours of the summer exhibition, “Roger Tory Peterson; The Life, The Work, The Legacy”,,all for a $10 donation.

“We first offered ‘Art After 5’ to the community approximately 10 years ago, and there was such a positive response to those events that we wanted to bring them back to life. Our hope is to share our beautiful facility, artwork and collections with attendees. This is a great opportunity for visitors to view our new exhibition while enjoying music and refreshments in the company of friends,” said Jane Johnson, director of exhibits and special collections. The first ‘Art After 5’ on June 14 will feature local musician Adam McKillip, wine by Bag & String Wine Merchants of Lakewood, and an array of appetizers. This event is sponsored in part by the Jamestown Renaissance Corporation and the Jamestown Up Close brand.

This art and music series will continue rain or shine and is exclusively for guests ages 21 and over. The July, August and September ‘Art After 5’ events will feature different musicians, food and drink. All donations benefit RTPI’s general operations and programming.
