Tim Hortons donates breakfast to Westfield hospital employees

WESTFIELD — In a world where one can choose to be anything, Dave and Gina Kron of Tim Hortons choose to be ‘kind’ by donating breakfast for AHN-Westfield Memorial Hospital employees working at the hospital during the COVID-19 crisis.

The Krons and their entire team from the Dunkirk and Fredonia Tim Hortons are eager to let hospital associates know just how much their efforts mean to the whole community as they combat the invisible enemy during this unprecedented pandemic.

“We would like to honor the many AHN-Westfield Memorial Hospital heroes working tirelessly on the front-lines. Giving back to the hospital associates is easy to do,” said Gina Kron.

The community hospital employees were invited to enjoy Tim Hortons coffee, Timbits and bagels Wednesday, in the WMH Community Room.

“Having grateful donors recognize the significant and important work that Westfield Memorial Hospital’s associates perform on a daily basis means a lot to all of us,” said Kathryn Bronstein, President of the WMH Foundation. “We too, remain grateful to all our donors and to the many hospital associates who are so deserving of this recognition — especially during this challenging time.”

“With our lives turned upside down and as we struggle to find a little ‘normal’ in our new normal, hospital foundation donors continue to amaze us by their on-going kind and thoughtful generosity,” said Patricia Gaughan DiPalma, Executive Director of the Westfield Memorial Hospital Foundation.

“Recognizing all the WMH employees — from doctors and nurses, to the technicians, patient access clerks, environmental services team and the maintenance staff, is awe-inspiring and very much appreciated,” said Karen Surkala, WMH President. “I am positive the entire staff will welcome this generous act of caring during these unsettling times, once again reminding us that we are all in this together.”

DiPalma, along with board members for Westfield Memorial Hospital Foundation, Westfield Memorial Hospital and WMH Auxiliary also extend their gratitude to all the selfless healthcare providers and other essential employees fighting to keep our community healthy and out of harm’s way. Every. Single. Day.

As we take on the many challenges of COVID-19, the outpouring of support from the community continues to lift us up. And we’ve found that many are still asking, “How can we help?” For those who would like to give donations of supplies, masks, food or philanthropic dollars, please email: patricia.dipalma@ahn.org.
