Babysitting clinic offered

The Jamestown YMCA announces an upcoming date for the next YMCA babysitting clinic for boys and girls, ages 11-16. The clinic will be held May 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Jamestown YMCA. The clinic will instruct participants about the responsibilities involved in caring for younger children including child development, safety, emergency response and more. The clinic is taught by experienced instructors who have knowledge in child development, health and overall care of children. Participants should bring a brown bag lunch. Space is limited. Registrations cannot be taken over the phone but can be made in person at the YMCA Welcome Center before May 23. For more information, visit us online at www.jamestownymca.org.

Villenova to hold special meeting Wednesday

The Villenova Town Board will hold a special meeting Wednesday, May 22 at 7 p.m. in the town hall to approve the purchase of highway equipment.

Soil & Water directors meeting May 23

Chautauqua County Soil and Water Conservation District director’s regular meeting Thursday, May 23 at 8:30 a.m. at the Soil and Water Conservation Office, 3542 Turner Road, Jamestown.

Honoring our veterans

During the next several days, local veterans organizations and other groups will be decorating cemeteries by placing U.S. Flags on all veteran’s graves. If any graves were inadvertently overlooked, please go to Dunkirk Memorial Post 62 or Fredonia Memorial Post 59 any day after 3 p.m. and pick up a flag.
