Silver Creek to begin smoke testing Monday

Smoke testing will begin Monday in the village of Silver Creek in order to discover where storm water is entering the sanitary sewer system. This testing is part of the Department of Environmental Conservation consent order work. Residents are asked not to be alarmed if they see the high-pressure smoke used during the testing. Those with concerns should notify the GHD Project Representative Brian Doyle at (716)748-6623. Residents are asked to look for the PUBLIC NOTICE on page A5 in today’s OBSERVER for tips on what to expect during the testing. The village is also encouraging any residents with storm water drains hooked into the sanitary sewer to address the illegal hookups on their own as soon as possible. The Silver Creek Village Board thanks all residents for their cooperation in this matter.
