Dunkirk city rec office is moving

Beginning Tuesday, the Dunkirk Recreation Department will be relocated to the Dunkirk Senior Center at 45 Cliffstar Court.

Sign-ups for the city-sponsored Summer Better Than Others day camp at Camp Gross in Cassadaga will be held there, as well.

GoFundMe account set up for Thompson family

A GoFundMe account has been set up for the family of Patrick Thompson of Westfield.

Thompson had been missing for more than a week until his body was discovered in a wooded area Wednesday. An autopsy will be performed, however foul play is not expected.

The money will be used to help cover funeral costs.

Fredonia reminds people not to dump home waste

The village of Fredonia would like to remind residents and visitors to the downtown area that the trash receptacles put out for public use in the area are for trash generated from visiting local merchants; they are not intended for depositing home-generated waste. Depositing of home waste is a violation of village law.

The village of Fredonia is reminding people that it is illegal to post signs of any kind on utility poles and street signs.
