City to host workshops for comprehensive plan

The city of Dunkirk will hold two workshops on its comprehensive plan to gather feedback from the public. The first workshop will be held Tuesday, July 31, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Iglesias Getsemani, located at 115 Central Ave. The second workshop will be held July 31 from 4-8 p.m. at the Kozciuszko Club, located at 252 Nevins St. Both workshops will feature the same materials related to the comprehensive plan. The room will be set up with different boards to make it interactive so attendees can provide comments on certain locations in the city that need improvements.

County IDA meeting Tuesday in Ellicott

In accordance with the New York State Open Meetings Law, a board meeting of the County of Chautauqua Industrial Development Agency (CCIDA) Board of Directors will be held at Town of Ellicott Board Room, 215 South Work Street, Falconer, NY, on Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at 10 a.m.

Chautauqua County Antique Equipment Association to meet Tuesday

Chautauqua County Antique Equipment Association will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday, July 14 at the CCAEA Club grounds, Cemetery Road, Stockton at 7 p.m. This will be the final meeting before the annual show on Aug. 17, 18, 19. All members or prospective members are urged to attend.

Family Night at Cassadaga Branch Library

Cassadaga Branch Library, 18 Maple Ave., will host a Family Night, “The Science of Sound,” on Wednesday, July 25 at 7 p.m.

SOAR Chapter 4-1 meeting and lunch

SOAR Chapter 4-1 will hold a meeting and lunch on July 24 at noon at the United Steelworkers Local Union 2693 Union Hall, 97 E. Fourth St., Dunkirk. Retirees of all unions are welcome.

NCCR sixth annual Doggone Good Yard Sale

Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue will hold its sixth annual Doggone Good Yard Sale on Friday, July 27 and Saturday, July 28 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.. The event will take place at the shelter, located at 7540 N. Gale St., Westfield. NCCR will be taking donations at the shelter starting July 2. No electronics, mattresses, clothing, televisions. Good salable items are requested.

Next Springville Festival planned for July 25

The Springville Area Chamber of Commerce will be holding a series of summer festivals in Heritage Park the last Wednesday of the month. The next one will take place July 25, with subsequent events Aug. 29 and Sept. 26. Designed for family and children, the activities will include live music, food and vendors. The time frame is 5 to 8 p.m.
