Chautauqua County Genealogical Society will hold annual picnic
The Chautauqua County Genealogical Society will hold its annual picnic, on Tuesday from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Red House, Frisbee Road, Cassadaga. The potluck meal will be held at 5:30 p.m. for those who are interested. Table service, coffee, tea and water will be provided. The meeting will take place from 6:30 to 7 p.m. Tour the 1800’s brick house and bring a story or artifacts of interest to share with the group. Members, friends and local historians will have displays, stories and publications available. The event is open to the public.
Planning Zoning Workshop
The Town of Dunkirk Zoning and Planning Boards will hold a workshop at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, at the Town Hall, 4737 Willow Road. The purpose of the workshop is to continue with revisions to the Town Zoning Code.
Fredonia BOE meeting Tuesday
The next regular meeting of the Fredonia Board of Education will be held on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the High School Library.

The Sheridan Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary will meet today at 6 p.m. at Sheridan Bay Park for a hot dog roast. All members are encouraged to attend.

Today, weather permitting, the village of Fredonia will oil and stone the following streets (Weather permitting):

Howard Street
Prospect Street (From Orchard to Elm)
Pine Drive
Bradish Street
Douglas Street
Stuben Street
Pulaski Street
Risley Street
Terrace Street
Traffic will be disrupted for a brief amount of time on each street.
CASAC and HOPE Chautauqua plan “Celebrate Your Strengths Talent Show” Tuesday
CASAC and HOPE Chautauqua will present: “Celebrate Your Strengths Talent Show!,” on Tuesday, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the Chautauqua County Fairgrounds, 1089 Central Ave., Dunkirk. Contestants can be ages 8 to 17. The cost is $10 per participant. Divisions include Division 1 (ages 8 to 11), Division 2 (ages 12 to 14); Division 3 (ages 15 to 17). Categories are singing, dancing, instrument, variety. There will be prizes to win: first, second, third for each category in each division. Register at www.casacweb.org by Aug. 14.
