Fall Bazaar today

Versailles Community Hall is sponsoring a fall bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 17 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lunch will be available. The hall is handicapped accessible.

Amateur radio license class starts Sunday

The Pioneer, Radio, Operators, Society and Cattaraugus County amateur Radio Exam Team will be starting a “General” Level amateur radio licensing class on Sunday. This will be held at Bertrand Chaffee Hospital, 224 East Main St, Springville, NY. This class starts at 9 AM and runs for about 8 weeks. There is no class fee, but you will need a study guide. The study guides are available for the cost of $25 and can be purchased at the first class. Please contact Gary Tillinghast, KB2YAA at 716/592-9554 to register. The class needs about 5 persons minimum to start the class.

Fredonia Farmers’ Winter Market today

The Fredonia Farmers’ Winter Market will take place today from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. indoors in the Masonic Lodge, 321 E. Main St., Fredonia. Stock up for Thanksgiving with vegetables, meats, baked goods and more. Fredonia Farmers’ Market will be collecting non-perishable food and monetary donations for the next month for the Friendly Kitchen to assist our neighbors who are in need of help. Share our blessings.

Cherry Creek VFW Post #2522 fund-raiser planned for today

Cherry Creek VFW Post #2522 will host a spin the wheel for meat fund-raiser today at 7 p.m. at 7117 Main St., Route 83, Cherry Creek. Prize winners take home turkey, ham, or strip steak. There is no admission fee. Free food and munchies will be provided.

Ripley Public Library holiday auction at Noble Winery today

The Friends of the Ripley Public Library are hosting the annual holiday auction today at Noble Winery, 8630 Hardscrabble Road, Westfield. This year proceeds from the auction will benefit the Library Building Fund. Area businesses as well as individuals have donated merchandise, services and gift certificates. Bidders can also purchase homemade baked goods.

The silent auction starts at 2 p.m. and a live auction will begin at 4 p.m. A $5 live auction admission applies toward purchases. This is a great opportunity to get started on holiday shopping.

“The community is always very generous with donations; wines and gift certificates from local wineries, holiday decorations, children’s games and activities, handmade quilt hangings, art from local artists, restaurant gift certificates are some of the many offerings,” said Nancy McIntosh, Friends of the Library President. McIntosh continued, “we are grateful for the generosity of Pete Noble as he regularly opens his winery doors for Ripley Public Library events.”

Sheridan Volunteer Fire Department turkey and ham party today

The Sheridan Volunteer Fire Department, 2800 Route 20, will host a turkey and ham party today at 7 p.m. The evening also includes door prizes and refreshments.

Sunday Family Breakfast is Sunday

Forest Lodge No. 166 F & A.M. will be holding its monthly Sunday Family Breakfast Nov. 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This all-you-can-eat breakfast will consist of eggs made to order, pancakes or French toast, sausages, fruit cocktail, toast, juice, milk, coffee and tea. Adults and teenagers 13 and up: $7.50, Children 6 to 12: $3, Kids 5 and under are free. The public is welcome and cordially invited to attend, as is anyone with interests in, or who has questions about Free Masonry. Forest Lodge is located at 321 E. Main St. (Route 20), Fredonia.

NCCCA meeting planned for Sunday

The Northern Chautauqua County Club Associates will hold its regular monthly meeting on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at the Fredonia Beaver Club, 64 Prospect St. in Fredonia.

Sheridan Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary to meet Monday

The Sheridan Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. at the Fire hall, 2800 Route 20, Sheridan, on Monday.

Cassadaga Village Board meeting off

The Cassadaga Village Board has canceled its Nov. 21 meeting. The next meeting will take place Dec. 5.

Gowanda Community Thanksgiving dinner planned for Nov. 20

A Gowanda Community Thanksgiving dinner is planned for Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Gowanda Moose Lodge, 201 Aldrich St., Gowanda. All are welcome. Guests can bring a dish to pass if desired. The event is sponsored by the Gowanda Ministers Association.

Caregiver Group for Parents of Children with Developmental Disabilities

The next meeting of the Dunkirk/Fredonia Family and Caregiver Group for Parents of Children with Developmental Disabilities will take place Wednesday,Nov. 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Western New York DDSO, 258 E. Main St., Fredonia. The group meets the third Wednesday of each month.

The group provides a welcoming environment for parents, family members and other caregivers of individuals with developmental disabilities to meet, share experiences, ask questions and receive support.
