Mayville DMV open today for snowmobilers

MAYVILLE — The Chautauqua County clerk has announced that the Mayville Department of Motor Vehicles office will be open from 9 a.m to 1 p.m. today for the influx of in state and out of state snowmobilers to register their sleds and be able to enjoy the newly opened snowmobile trails.

Jamestown or Dunkirk offices will not be open. County Clerk Larry Barmore reminds snowmobilers to be safe on the trails and to ride with friends, never ride alone. Remember, sleds are not allowed on sidewalks or highways unless otherwise marked.

Fredonia-Pomfret GOP seeking candidates

The Fredonia-Pomfret Republican Committee is seeking candidates for the upcoming November 2019 local election cycle. Due to the NY State Legislature moving up dates for Caucus and petition-passing, candidates need to be slated by mid-February. County Planning Board to meet

The Chautauqua County Planning Board’s monthly meeting will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 5, in the Main Meeting Room of the Fredonia Technology Incubator, 214 Central Avenue, Dunkirk. Meetings of the County Planning Board are held on the first Tuesday of every month and are always open to the public.

Dunkirk Citizens Advisory Board monthly meeting to be held Feb. 13

The Dunkirk Citizens Advisory Board monthly meeting will be held Wednesday, Feb. 13 at 6:30 p.m. in the City Hall Conference Room on the second floor.
