I-Phone Basics: Feb. 20: 1 to 2 p.m.

Exploring the Library Edition of Ancestry: Feb, 21: 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Hour of Code: Feb. 22: 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Everything Google: Feb. 25, 27: 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

All classes are offered at the Dunkirk Public Library. Registration is required for all classes.

North Chautauqua County Water District Board

The Administrative Board of the North Chautauqua County Water District shall hold a meeting on Thursday at 4 p.m. at the Fireside Manor Restaurant, 5377 W. Lake Road, Dunkirk.

Ripley Board of Education to meet

A regular meeting of the Board of Education of the Ripley Central School District will be held on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the IRLA Library (Room 204) of the Ripley Central School, for the purpose of any and all items that come before the board.

Forestville Fire District Board to meet

The Forestville Fire District Board of Fire Commissioners will conduct its regular monthly meeting Thursday at 7 p.m., at the Forestville Fire Station, located at 18 Chestnut St.

Public hearing for Ball Hill Wind set for Wednesday

The New York State Public Service Commission will hold a public statement hearing and procedural conference to receive comments on Ball Hill Wind Energy’s request for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity for a planned wind electric generating facility in the towns of Hanover and Villenova. The hearing is set for Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 4 p.m. at Silver Creek Central School auditorium, 1 Dickinson St., Silver Creek.

Westfield Quilters’ Guild meeting Thursday

The Westfield Quilters’ Guild is just the place and has just what you’re looking for during these cold winter months. Come see what we’re all about at this month’s meeting, Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Westfield YWCA, 58 S. Portage St. February’s meeting is all about demonstrations, given by some of the many talented guild members, and is the perfect time to check us out. Whether you’ve sewn all of your life, or never sat down to a sewing machine, quilting can become a wonderful hobby and pastime. You’ve never met a group of folks more helpful and giving. In addition to quilts and other items made for friends and family members, the Westfield Quilters’ Guild donated 170 quilts, 63 bibs, and 16 pillowcases to various organizations and individuals in 2018.

Gowanda Women of the Moose to host towel raffle party

On Sunday, Women of the Moose 651 will host a towel raffle party at the Gowanda Moose Lodge, 201 Aldrich St. in Gowanda to raise funds for their community service project. Doors open at noon; games from 1 to 3 p.m. Admission boards are $4 and extra boards are $1. Win towels, washcloths and other prizes.

Other activities include chance auction, 50/50, 25-cent auction table, door prizes and more. The kitchen will be open and refreshments are available. Call 532-4882 for more information.

Fredonia Planning Board to meet Wednesday

The village of Fredonia Planning Board will meet at the Village Hall, 9-11 Church St., Fredonia, on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. This will be the regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Board, where they will discuss the new Brooks Memorial Hospital proposal for 412 East Main St. in Fredonia. Public comment or questions WILL be accepted during this Planning Board meeting.

Gowanda Ambulance Service chicken ‘n

biscuit dinner set

A chicken n’ biscuit dinner will be sponsored by the Gowanda Ambulance Service on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Gowanda American Legion Post No. 409, 100 Legion Drive, Gowanda. The meal is $8 for adults, $5 for 12 and under, and free for ages 5 and under.
