Gowanda Moose Club to host fundraiser meat raffle today

Gowanda Loyal Order of Moose 1382 is hosting a ham, turkey and meat raffle today, beginning at 7 p.m. at the Moose Lodge, 201 Aldrich St., Gowanda. The raffle will benefit the “Raise the Roof Fund” to repair the building. Enjoy a burger or hot dog, chips and draft beer with $5 entry donation fee. Money raffle tickets are $10 each and 10 cash prizes up to $1,000 will be awarded.

Chautauqua County Rural Ministries plans “It’s a Wrap” education night tonight

Chautauqua County Rural Ministries will host “It’s a Wrap” education night for children in elementary school.

This event will take place on Thursday, April 4 at the Chautauqua County Rural Ministry location (319 Washington Ave., Dunkirk. The event will running from 4 to 5 p.m. Participants will learn the importance of healthy eating and staying active through a series of activities, including creating and eating a wrap of their own creation from a variety of healthy food options. The Chautauqua County Rural Ministry was created to meet unmet needs in this community. For over five decades, the Rural Ministry has provided the basic needs of food, clothing and shelter to the less fortunate and those in crisis situations. The Rural Ministry is your agency reaching to those in Chautauqua County who need a hand up, not a hand out.

We hope to educate and impact young children and their decisions that will lead to healthy, active, and nutritious lives. The Chautauqua County Rural Ministry is a United Way of Northern Chautauqua County Community Partner. Workshops are no cost and made possible by UWNCC and NY DOH Hunger Prevention and Nutritional Assistance Program.

Clean, Sober, Saved to host fundraiser

This Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Clean, Sober, Saved will be at the Super Duper, 303 Pine St. in South Dayton with a hot dog sale. For $4, enjoy hot dogs, salads, desserts, soda and water. Take-outs are available. Contact Percy at 532-1410 or 378-5084 for more information.

Spaghetti dinner to benefit fourth grader

“A Night of Hope” spaghetti dinner fundraiser is taking place on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m. at Dunkirk American Legion Post No. 62, 211 Central Ave. Brian Bialaszewski is a fourth grader at Fredonia Elementary School who is receiving treatments for A.M.L. leukemia at Oishei Children’s Hospital in Buffalo.

Dinner tickets are $8 for adults, $4 for children and include spaghetti/meatball dinner, garden salad, roll and dessert. The fundraiser also includes a 50/50 drawing, chance auction and karaoke/DJ by Family Tradition. For dinner tickets or to donate, contact Marchelle at 235-3031.

N. Chautauqua Catholic School to host Lenten fish fry

On Friday, April 5 from 4 to 7 p.m., Northern Chautauqua Catholic School, 336 Washington Ave., Dunkirk, will be hosting a Lenten fish fry in the school gymnasium. Tickets are $12 each (dine-in or carry-out). Cheese pizza will be available for $2 per slice. Tickets are available at the NCCS main office during school hours or at the door.

The Relief Zone Holds 10K Sanctioned Race

FREWSBURG – The Relief Zone (TRZ) fund-raising committee is holding its 2019 1st Annual 10K Sanctioned Race Saturday April 6 at the Willis C. Hale Town Park located in Frewsburg. The race will begin at 9 a.m., followed by awards at 10:30 a.m.

Interested participants can register online or on race day. The cost to participate is $25. Registration will be from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. on race day. For more information or to register, go to www.thereliefzone.org.
