VITA program still available

There is still time to file your federal and state income taxes for free. The Chautauqua County Earned Income Tax Credit Coalition has Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) appointments available on Thursday, April 11th, Saturday, April 13th and Monday, April 15th; at the United Way of Northern Chautauqua County and at the SUNY Fredonia Technology Incubator.

Call 2-1-1 WNY to schedule an appointment, dial 2-1-1 (or 1-888-696-9211).

An IRS certified volunteer will prepare your taxes at NO COST to you. All tax returns are filed electronically. You must bring your social security card and picture identification with you. If you are married filing jointly, both spouses must be present to sign required forms.

If you worked in 2018 but earned less than the income guidelines, you may be eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit – even if you are not required to file an income tax return.

Visit the United Way of Northern Chautauqua County’s website at www.unitedwayncc.org or call 2-1-1 for more information.
