K9 Avengers Lend a Paw for Autism dog walk April 14

K9 Avengers Lend a Paw for Autism dog walk will take place Sunday, April 14 from noon to 4. Meet at the , SUNY Fredonia clock tower. Registration begins at 11 a.m. The event is presented by Hail! Fredonia Records. Early-bird registration is available through April 9 for $12 with complimentary event t-shirt. Registration April 10 to 14 without an event t-shirt is $15. Sheridan VFW’s Spring Meat Party April 14

The Sheridan Memorial VFW Post #6390’s Spring Meat Party Fund-raiser will be held on SUNDAY, April 14 at 2 p.m. YES, it is going back to Sunday at 2 p.m. You asked, and we heard you!! Free refreshments, Ca$h Drawing, Theme Baskets, Wheel Spins and FUN! We have 20 different meats and South Dayton Supermarket DONUTS! Thanks to Dave and his crew at SDSM for doing such a wonderful job with the packaging of the meats for this event. We will have Special Draws for Prime Rib Roasts and Surf-n-Turf Packages! Once again, Theme Baskets are needed; for every donation you make, you receive one entry for the $20 VFW Gift Card Lottery Draw. We appreciate our volunteers who donate. Jennifer, Ward, Sam, and Allison have volunteered to help us for this fundraiser; A few more volunteers are still needed. The Post is located at 2556 Route 20, Silver Creek (near Sheridan). The City of Dunkirk Industrial Development Agency will hold a regular board meeting this Monday, April 8, at 4 p.m. in the Mayor’s Conference Room in City Hall, 342 Central Ave. Dunkirk, NY.

Dunkirk High School, Cardinal Mindszenty “Class of 59” plan joint reunion

The Dunkirk High School and Cardinal Mindszenty High School “Class of ’59” plan a joint reunion to mark the 60th anniversary of their graduation. The “Class of ’59” from both schools have celebrated separate reunions every five years to get together and renew old friendships. This year the “Class of ’59” from both schools will join in a reunion at the Clarion Hotel in Dunkirk on July 26 and 27 for a first time ever, joint reunion. The cross-town schools have enjoyed many business and personal relationships over the years, so the respective reunion committees thought the joint reunion a great idea.

The reunion will kick-off at the Clarion Hotel in Dunkirk at their outdoor pavilion on Friday, July 26 at 7 p.m. for an informal get-together that will feature a cash bar and finger food condiments. The cost for the Friday evening get-together is $10 each. On Saturday, July 27 there will be a dinner at the Clarion starting at 6 p.m. that will also feature a cash bar and finger food condiments.

Choices for the Saturday evening dinner are: Prime Rib – $35; Shrimp Scampi – $35; Chicken Cordon Bleu – $26. All t ax and gratuity included. Co-Chairs for the event are Dorothy Lawrence (CHMS) and Robert Kaus (DHS).

Reservations and checks to cover the cost of the reunion should be sent to Robert Kaus, 3 Johnson St., Fredonia, NY 14063 and must be received no later than July 1. Questions can be directed to Dorothy Vacanti Lawrence (672-2682) or Robert Kaus (679-1428).

Sons of the Legion, Squadron 434, Brocton meeting set for Tuesday

The Sons of the Legion, Squadron 434, Brocton, will hold their monthly meeting Tuesday, April 9. at 7 p.m. The meeting is held at the Brocton Legion Post, 110 W. Main St., starting at 7 p.m. All members are welcome and encouraged to attend.

E. Dunkirk Ladies Auxiliary to host

chicken barbecue

The East Dunkirk Ladies Auxiliary is hosting a Chiavetta’s chicken barbecue dinner at the East Dunkirk Fire Hall, 10949 South Roberts Road, Dunkirk on Wednesday, April 10 from 4 to 6 p.m. or until sold out. Tickets are $10 and are available at Big Rick’s One Stop, Fourth Ward Deli and at the door. Eat-in or drive through is available. For more information or tickets, call 680-2729.
