Hanover Democratic Club to host Dyngus Day dinner

On Monday, April 22, the town of Hanover Democratic Club will host a Dyngus Day dinner at the Firemen’s Club on the Lake, 23 Jackson St., in Silver Creek. Festivities begin at 5 p.m. and include cash bar, authentic Polish meal of Barb Crockski’s hometown pierogis, Redlinski Polish sausage, mashed potatoes, sauerkraut, salad and desserts. Cash bar is available. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased from Mary Fran O’Connell at 934-4187, Deanna Borrello at 934-2410 or Martha Boutet at 934-2691. All are welcome.

Fraternity to host Spring Egg Hunt

The Kappa Sigma Fraternity from SUNY Fredonia is asking for donations from local business as it is hosting the 9th annual Spring Egg Hunt.

This event will take place in front of President Virginia Horvath’s house. The event’s date is this Sunday, April 14, from 1-3 p.m. The festivities will include: an egg hunt, face painting, pictures with the Easter Bunny and a prize giveaway to the children. Any donation will be gladly accepted.

Kappa Sigma will be working hard in order to ensure a fun, yet safe egg hunt for the children.

The Sons of American Legion Squad 59 will be holding their monthly meeting tonight at 7 p.m. at the Fredonia American Legion Post 59, 156 E. Main St., Fredonia. Commander Rod Dziduch will be addressing nominations, the consolidated report and regular business. There will be an update on the family picnic, which will be held on Saturday, Aug. 10 at Russell Joy Park. All SAL are encouraged to attend the meetings, which are held on the second Tuesday of every month.
