The Sons of American Legion Squad 59 to hold monthly meeting July 9

The Sons of American Legion Squad 59 will be holding their monthly meeting Tuesday, July 9 at 7 p.m. at Post 59, 156 E Main St., Fredonia. Topics to be discussed will be finalizing plans for the annual Post 59 Family Picnic on Aug. 10 at Russell Joy Park. The picnic will run from noon to 11 p.m. with appetizers at noon, Bring a dish to share, followed by the Cornhole Tournament (sign-up required by Aug. 8 at Post 59) at 1 p.m. Children’s games will also be played throughout the afternoon. A buffet dinner catered by Super Duper Catering will be served at 2 p.m. There will also be hot dogs, chips and corn at 7 p.m. and music by “Big Tone” from 7 to 10 p.m. Sign-up for the picnic is requested by Aug. 1 at Post 59. Cost for adults is $12 and children under 12 are free of charge.

Commander Dziduch will provide updates on the hot dogs provided to Veterans and guests for the 100th anniversary party served by Rod Dziduch and Bill Shaw.

The meat and shrimp raffle was held on June 15.

Power washing of Post 59 was completed recently.

All SAL are encouraged to attend the meetings which are held on the second Tuesday of every month and for anyone interested in joining the SAL.
