East parking lot in Fredonia closed for paving

Village of Fredonia Department of Public Works director Anthony Gugino announced that the southern half of the East municipal parking lot will be temporarily closed today and Thursday for a paving project.

No parking will be allowed in that section so that this improvement project can be performed.

Chadwick Bay RDC Board cancels meeting

The July Chadwick Bay Regional Development Corporation meeting scheduled for Thursday has been canceled.

The North Chautauqua County Water District Administrative Board will still meet at 4 p.m.

The next Chadwick Bay RDC meeting is tentatively scheduled for Thursday August 15, at 5:30 p.m. at Manning’s Fireside Manor.

CCRM to hold large yard sale to benefit programs

Chautauqua County Rural Ministry (CCRM) will be holding a huge yard sale on Friday, July 19 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday, July 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to support their programs.

Due to a large donation from Fredonia State University of New York campus students, name brand (Talbots, American Eagle, Forever 21, North Face, South Pole, etc..) new and gently worn clothing as well as small appliances and household items will be available. This is a great way to get summer clothes, winter clothes, school clothes and Christmas gifts too. Clothing is from young adult to plus sizes and linens, bedding, coats, shoes, boots and many miscellaneous items.

CCRM is located at 319 Washington St. in Dunkirk. Items will be individually priced or fill a bag.

CCRM operates the local soup kitchen which serves 42,000 meals annually, as well as an emergency food pantry that distributes 80,000 meals annually. CCRM is a United Way of Northern Chautauqua County Community Partner. For more information, call 366-1787.

Loyal Order of Moose cocktails and Towel Raffle Party Saturday

Gowanda Loyal Order of Moose 1382 will hold a Cocktails and Towel Raffle Party on Saturday, July 20 at 201 Aldrich St., Gowanda. Doors open at 6 p.m. The event starts at 7 p.m. and runs until about 10 p.m. Admission boards are $4, with extra boards available for $1. Come win towels. There are 100 towels and washcloths to be won and other prizes. There will also be a chance auction, a $.25 auction table, 50/50 and door prizes. The kitchen will be open and refreshments will be available. For additional information, call 532-4882.

Fredonia Food Pantry open Saturday

On Saturday, July 20, The Fredonia Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Fredonia Presbyterian Church at 219 Central Ave. The pantry serves the needs of residents of Fredonia, area code 14063, Pomfret, Sheridan, and Laona. All guests receive one or more bags of non-perishable food. Number of bags given out depends on family size.
