Fifth annual kickball tournament set for Sunday, July 21

The 5th Annual One Small Kick kickball tournament to benefit the foundation for Prader Willis Syndrome will take place on Sunday, July 21 at Silver Creek Central School, 1 Dickinson St. Sign in begins at 9 a.m., with games beginning at 10 a.m., followed by the 12:30 p.m. awards ceremony.

PWS is a rare disorder that causes low muscle tone, developmental delays and an inability to regulate hunger or feel full. Registration is $200 per team of 8 to 12 players or $20 per individual player. Email Paul Matesevac with questions or to register at KickPWS@gmail.com.

Sunset Bay Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary chicken barbecue

A drive-thru chicken barbecue will be held Sunday, July 21 from 1 to 5 p.m at the Sunset Bay Fire Hall, 12798 Allegany Road, Irving. Pick up pre-sales by 3:30 p.m. $10 donation will be accepted. The event is sponsored by the Sunset Bay Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary.

SOAR Chapter 4-1 meeting and lunch

SOAR Chapter 4-1 will hold its next meeting and lunch on Tuesday, July 23 at noon at the United Steelworkers Local Union 2693 Union Hall, 97 E. Fourth St., Dunkirk. Retirees of all unions welcome.

Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue yard sale set for July 26, 27

The Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue (NCCR) will hold its annual yard sale on Friday, July 26 and Saturday, July 27 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. The center is located at 7540 N. Gale St., Westfield. Come support the dogs.

YWCA Arts & Crafts festival set for July 26 and 27

The annual YWCA Arts & Crafts festival, located in the Village of Westfield’s Moore Park returns on July 26 and 27. Patrons will enjoy FREE admission to browse among numerous vendors. A variety of food trucks offer a wide selection of tasty delights. Attendees will find unique and handcrafted creations, including home decor, gourmet foods, jewelry, children’s toys, clothing, original art, metal sculptures and more. Portland Planning Board to meet

There will be a Town of Portland Planning Board Meeting in the Courtroom Town Building, located at 87 W Main St, Brocton, on Tuesday, July 23, at 7:30 p.m.

Enrollment Day set for Tuesday at Silver Creek Elementary

Registration for Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten for the 2019-2020 academic year is underway at Silver Creek Elementary School, with a special Enrollment Day slated Tuesday, July 23.

District residents with children who will be 4 or 5 years old by Dec. 1, 2019, are welcome to register by visiting the Elementary Office on Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The enrollment process takes about 30 minutes to complete. Parents/guardians will receive enrollment packets and must bring in a valid driver’s license as proof of identity.

Western Family Fun to celebrate Wild Bill Frost

On Sunday, July 28, Western Family Fun will hold a special birthday celebration for Wild Bill Frost, who turns 90 on Oct. 22. The festivities take place at Bill’s Gun & Saddle Shop at 39 Prospect St. in Sinclairville. From 2 to 4 p.m., enjoy quick draw and gun spinning, saloon girls and cowboys, whip cracking, shoot outs, jail breaks, bank robberies. Check out the gun shop, saddle shop and museum.

Suggested donations are $10 for adults, $5 for children under 13. Refreshments by Cub Scout Pack 135 at 2 p.m., and music by Sam Passamonte and Jerry Walker.
