Beef on Weck dinner to be served

The Sinclairville History Fair committee will hold a Beef on Weck dinner at the Sinclairville fire hall on today, Sept. 14 at 5 p.m. The dinner will include a beef sandwich with macaroni salad along with pickle, brownie and drink. A dinner will be $7 and $4 for under 12. All proceeds will go to support the annual History fair and will be served until sold out.

Forest Lodge monthly breakfast Sunday

Forest Lodge No.166 will be starting back up with it’s monthly Sunday Family Breakfast on Sept. 15, from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. This all-you-can-eat breakfast will consist of eggs made to order, pancakes or French toast, sausages, fruit cocktail, toast, juice, milk, coffee and tea. Adults and teenagers 13 and up $8, children 6-12 $4, kids 5 and under are free. Public is welcome and cordially invited to attend, as is anyone with interests in, or has questions about Free Masonry. Forest Lodge is located at 321 East Main St. (Rt. 20), Fredonia. Stop and enjoy breakfast before the Festival of Grapes parade.

Villenova Cemetery Association plans fund-raiser

Villenova Cemetery Association “Love Remembered” memorial 5K walk/run will be held Sunday, Sept. 15 at the Villenova Cemetery, located on Cemetery Road in South Dayton. Registration is at noon, with a 1 p.m. start. The registration fee is $20 for adults or $10 for students. The SkyHunters Falconry will hold a Birds of Prey demonstration at approximately 2:30 p.m. The donation to observe the presentation is $5 per person. There will be random prize drawings. All proceeds from these events will benefit the Villenova Burial Association, an all-volunteer organization. The Association’s motto is “Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day.”

Sheridan Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary to meet

The Sheridan Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary will hold its monthly meeting on Monday, Sept. 16 at 7 p.m., at the Fire Hall, 2800 Route 20, Sheridan. All members are encouraged to attend.

Blood drive at Brooks Memorial Hospital Monday

Brooks Memorial Hospital, 529 Central Ave., Dunkirk, is hosting a ConnectLife blood drive on Monday, Sept. 16 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. ConnectLife (formerly Unyts) is the sole supplier of blood for Brooks Memorial Hospital. There is currently an urgent need for blood donors both locally and nationally. All donors at this drive will be entered to win one of two pair of Buffalo Sabres tickets. Lake Erie Bird Club to meet Monday

The Lake Erie Bird Club will meet Monday, Sept. 16 at 7 p.m. at BOCES, Fredonia-Stockton Road, Fredonia. Marilyn O’Connell will present a basic introduction program on bird watching. The program will include bird identification, how to record information about birds and using binoculars. This will be a great program for those who are just beginning to enjoy bird watching and also for those who have been bird watching for a long time to help them sharpen their bird watching skills.
