Glasgow Road closed today

Glasgow Road, in the town of Pomfret, between Dale Drive and Darby Switch Road, will be closed to traffic 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., today. A detour will not be posted.

NCCC Ladies Auxiliary meeting Wednesday

The Northern Chautauqua Conservation Club Ladies Auxiliary monthly meeting will take place Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 6:30 p.m. at 1 N. Mullet St., Dunkirk. Upcoming events will be discussed.

Reed staff to visit Fredonia

A member of Rep. Tom Reed’s staff will be at Fredonia Village Hall, 9-11 Church St., Fredonia on Thursday, Oct. 10 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Staff will be available to answer questions, gather feedback, and provide assistance with immigration, Social Security, veterans’ benefits, and other issues related to federal agencies.

AARP Driver safety class scheduled in Brocton

An AARP Driver safety class will be held Oct. 21 and 23 at Fellowship Church located at 148 W. Main St. in Brocton from 9 a.m. until noon both days.

Cost is $20 for AARP members and $25 for non-members payable by check to AARP.

To register, call Ahira Hall Memorial Library at 792-9418. Participants should bring a pen, driver’s license, AARP membership card and filled out check.

Please arrive a minimum of 15 minutes early the first day only to allow for registration.

Please note this is a Monday/Wednesday class.

Priest Appreciation dinner time change

The 21st Priest Appreciation dinner will take place on Sunday, Oct. 13 at St. Anthony’s Parish Hall, Cushing Street, Fredonia.

Donations are $20 per person. The time for cocktails has been changed to 4:30 p.m., with free bar, followed by a buffet-style dinner at 5:30 p.m. For tickets, contact St. Anthony’s Rectory at 679-4096 or Holy Trinity Rectory at 366-2306 or Lou Sinare (chairman) at 673-1068.

The event is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Cardinal Mindszenty Assembly 727 and Councils Dunkirk 929, Fredonia 7921, Gowanda 15113, Silver Creek 5356.
