Fredonia trustees plan special meeting

The village of Fredonia announces a special Board of Trustees meeting Thursday, Oct. 17 at 5:30 p.m. in the Trustees Room, second floor, Fredonia Village Hall.

DFT Telephone Company Retirees meeting set for Oct. 17

The next DFT Telephone Company Retirees meeting will take place Thursday, Oct. 17 at 9 a.m. at Demetri’s on the Lake, 6 Lake Shore Drive W., Dunkirk. All retirees are invited. The get-together always takes place the third Thursday of the month.

Dunkirk Memorial American Legion Post 62 Veterans Day Dinner planned for Nov. 9

Dunkirk Memorial American Legion Post 62 will hold a Veterans Day Pulled Pork/Ribs Dinner on Saturday, Nov. 9 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Post, 211 Central Ave., Dunkirk. The menu consists of pulled pork, ribs, salt potatoes and baked beans by JJ’s Backyard BBQ and desserts by the Unit 62 Auxiliary. The costs are $10 pre-sale, or $12 at the door. The presale deadline is Oct. 26. There will be complimentary dinners for veterans.

Westfield Quilters’ Guild to host Stefanak

This month the Westfield Quilters’ Guild welcomes Ron Stefanak from Syracuse as its National Speaker. Stefanak will start his three day visit with a trunk show of quilts featuring his paper piecing talents. Members and visitors, beginners and experts, are welcome to attend the meeting on Thursday, Oct. 17 at the YWCA in Westfield. Social time begins at 6 p.m., meeting will start at 6:30.

Stefanak will hold classes Friday and Saturday, sharing his expertise and knowledge of modern paper piecing techniques.

Mayville Seniors plan Harvest Dinner

The Mayville Seniors are having a turkey dinner on Nov. 2. Reservations and payment of $5 must be made by the next meeting on Oct. 17. Arrangements can also be made by contacting Janet Loomis at 761-6687 or Edna Brown at 789-2316.

Revitalize Dunkirk to meet Thursday

The October monthly meeting of Revitalize Dunkirk will be held on Thursday, Oct. 17 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Fredonia Technology Incubator, 214 Central Ave., Dunkirk.

Revitalize Dunkirk is a 501(c)3 organization committed to bringing planning ideas for improving urban living to residents and elected officials of the City of Dunkirk to preserve the historic heritage, enhance the physical infrastructure, reinvigorate commerce, and boost community pride.

Perrysburg Zoning Board to meet Wednesday

The Perrysburg Zoning Board will meet Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. at the town hall. All meetings are open to the public, community members welcome.

Holy Trinity Parish stuffed chicken breast dinner postponed

The Holy Trinity Parish stuffed chicken breast dinner scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 19 has been postponed until further notice.
