Living Will presentation for Fredonia Grange

Fredonia Grange No. 1 will hold its monthly meeting today, Oct. 23 at 8 p.m. in the Fredonia Grange Hall, 58 W. Main Street, Fredonia.

On the schedule is a presentation by Grange member Joe Kwiatkowski on his recent experiences selecting health care proxy and living will conditions. The “Five Wishes” document helped with his choices.

He will be presenting the “Five Wishes” system and sharing his experience.

The public is welcome; there is no admission.

Brocton Chiavetta’s chicken barbecue dinner today

The Brocton Central School High School Band and Chorus are hosting a Chiavetta’s chicken barbecue today, Oct. 23 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the school cafeteria, 138 W. Main St.

Tickets are $10 and include half a chicken, potato salad, tossed salad, butter, and a roll. There will also be a bake sale. Dine-in, take-out and drive-thru service (at the gym entrance) are available.

All proceeds benefit music department extracurricular field trips and events throughout the year.

Free Community Wellness Event

A free Community Wellness Event with Certified Wellness Coach Kristian Reiber will take place Thursday, Oct. 24 at 4:30 p.m. at Om Nohm Gluten Free, 45 Temple St., Fredonia. Family-friendly tips and tricks to stay healthy through the winter will be provided.

Community Ukulele Jam Session Friday

A Community Ukulele Jam Session will take place Friday, Oct. 25 in the Costello Community Room, SUNY Fredonia. The schedule is: beginners and “brush-up” from 6 to 6:30 p.m., then a jam session for all from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Everyone is welcome, regardless of experience. Don’t have a ukulele? There are extras. Come for a community strum-a-long. The goal is to have fun and to make music. Questions? Contact Jill Reese at reese@fredonia.edu. This is a free event.
