Town hall on ability tracking today at Barker Library

Fredonia community members, there will be a town hall meeting regarding ability tracking and the new scheduling system implemented in the Fredonia Middle School this year. Issues to be explored include students’ access to equal educational opportunities and the effects of ability tracking on all students. Tracy Marafiote will be the moderator. The meeting will take place Monday, Nov. 4 at 6 p.m. in the Steele Room of Barker Library, 7 Day St. Fredonia.

Hanford Bay railroad crossing to be closed

The town of Hanover has announced that the Hanford Bay Railroad crossing is going to be closed Tuesday, Nov. 5 until Saturday, Nov. 9. The access road will be open as usual. The closure is due to scheduled repairs.

Gowanda Moose Lodge annual Election Day money, ham and turkey raffle set

The Gowanda Moose Lodge #1382 will hold its annual Election Day money, ham and turkey raffle on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 6:30 p.m., 201 Aldrich St. The $5 donation at the door includes the first beverage (well or draft Bud light) and sandwiches with chips. the evening also includes raffles, 50/50 and drink specials.

DHS Class of ’60 reunion meeting Tuesday

There will be a meeting of the Dunkirk High School class of 1960 regarding their 60th class reunion at 1 p.m. Nov. 5 at Bob Evans. Any interested classmates are invited to attend.

Chautauqua County Planning Board to meet

The Chautauqua County Planning Board’s monthly meeting will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5, at the Chautauqua County Office of Emergency Services, 2 Academy Street, Mayville. Meetings of the County Planning Board are held on the first Tuesday of every month and are always open to the public.

Perrysburg clerk and assessor offices closing

The Perrysburg Town Clerk and Assessor offices will be closed on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 5.
