The Chautauqua County Department of Public Facilities reports that County Route 91, in the Town of Villenova, over County Bridge 144, is now open.

School #4 barbecue dinner and basket raffle today

Dunkirk School #4 PTO will hold its annual Election Day barbecue dinner today Nov. 5 from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the school, located at 752 Central Ave. Dinner by Weidner’s includes 1/4 chicken, pulled pork sandwich, buttered potatoes, cole slaw, roll and butter for only $11. Town of Stockton meeting

The Town of Stockton will hold its regular monthly meeting today, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. at the Stockton Town Hall.

Valley Historical Society to meet

The Valley Historical Society will meet tonight, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. at the Cassadaga American Legion, 228 Maple Ave. The speaker will be Amanda Shepp speaking on “Colonel Bob, Robert Burns, and the early days of Lily Dale.” Officers for 2020 will be nominated with voting to take place at the December meeting. Refreshments will be served after the meeting. All persons interested in local history are invited to attend.

Barker Library presents: It’s a Play Date! Wednesday

On Wednesday, Nov. 6 from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m., come to the Barker Library’s Children’s Room for an hour of unstructured play. Give your little ones an introduction to the Library as they socialize with others and engage in interactive, engaging, sensory experiences.

Caregivers may take home “play recipes” for replicating play experiences at home.

For children 0 to 4 and their caregivers. Older siblings are welcome. No registration is required. the library is located at 7 Day St. in Fredonia.

Friends of Barker Library Annual Meeting

The Annual Meeting of the Friends of Barker Library is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 11:30 a.m. in the Barker Library Steele Room, 7 Day St., Fredonia. All members and everyone from the community are invited to attend. Following the business meeting, including remarks by the librarians, light refreshments will be served. This is a great opportunity to learn about “The Friends” and their impact on the success of our library.

Brocton trustees change meeting time

The Brocton Board of Trustees has changed the start time for its meetings. Beginning with the Nov. 20 session, the meetings will begin at 6:30 p.m. The Nov. 6 meeting will still be at 4:30 p.m. The board will continue to meet the first and third Wednesday of each month at Village Hall, 34 W. Main St.

Dayton to hold budget workshop

The Town of Dayton Board will meet on Thursday, Nov. 7, for a budget workshop.

Post 62 Veterans Day Dinner planned for Saturday

Dunkirk Memorial American Legion Post 62 will hold a Veterans Day Pulled Pork/Ribs Dinner on Saturday, Nov. 9 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Post, 211 Central Ave., Dunkirk. The menu consists of pulled pork, ribs, salt potatoes and baked beans by JJ’s Backyard BBQ and desserts by the Unit 62 Auxiliary. The cost is $12 at the door. There will be complimentary dinners for veterans.
