Stockton announces Christmas lighting contest

The Town of Stockton Planning Board has announced the details of its annual town-wide community Christmas lighting contest. This includes the Village of Cassadaga. No entry fee is required.

Applications are available at the Stockton, Cassadaga Libraries or the Town Clerk’s Office. Return applications by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17 to the Stockton Town Hall, the Stockton or Cassadaga Library building, or Library book drop off.

Contest judging will take place at 6 p.m. on or after Dec. 18.

Sheridan Memorial VFW Post 6390 news

The Sheridan Memorial VFW Post 6390 will provide a Thanksgiving Meal on Thursday, Nov. 28 from noon to 2 p.m. The meal will be free to Veterans and their families and is open to the public.

There will be no Fish Fry served on Black Friday (Nov. 29) to allow our employees and volunteers an opportunity to relax with their families. Fish Fries will resume the following Friday, Dec. 6. Thanks to the community for its support.

NY Telephone Retirees, former co-workers and friends get-together

The NY Telephone Retirees, former co-workers and friends will hold a get-together luncheon on Monday, Nov. 25 at noon at Demetri’s on the Lake, 6-8 Lake Shore Drive W., Dunkirk. Those interested in further details can call 366-3401.

Jamestown Coin Club meeting and auction set

The Jamestown Coin Club will hold a meeting and auction on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 7 p.m. at Erie 2 BOCES Center, Route 394, Ashville. Doors open at 6 p.m. The meeting is at 7 p.m., followed by the auction. Admission for guests is free. This month is Junior Guest Night.

Antique Equipment Association meeting Tuesday

Chautauqua County Antique Equipment Association will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 7 p.m. at the Laona Church, 9636 Wilson Road, Fredonia. All members are urged to attend.
