Fredonia Food Pantry open today

On Saturday, Jan. 18, The Fredonia Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Fredonia Presbyterian Church at 219 Central Ave. The pantry serves the needs of residents of Fredonia, area code 14063, Pomfret, Sheridan, and Laona. All guests receive one or more bags of non-perishable food. Number of bags given out depends on family size.

Flapjack fundraiser today in Dunkirk supports performing arts

The cast of Silver Creek High School’s upcoming spring musical “Shrek” will host a pancake breakfast fundraiser today, Jan. 18 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Applebee’s on Vineyard Drive in Dunkirk. The menu consists of pancakes, bacon and juice. Tickets are $6 per person or $4 for students/senior citizens. Email claurenzi@silvercreekschools.org or call 934-2603, ext. 2165 for tickets.

Sunday Family Breakfast

Forest Lodge #166 F & A.M. will be holding its monthly Sunday Family Breakfast on Jan. 19 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This all-you-can-eat breakfast will consist of eggs made to order, pancakes or French toast, sausages, fruit cocktail, toast, juice, milk, coffee, and tea. Adults and teenagers 13 and up $8, Children 6 to 12 $4, Kids 5 and under are free. Public is welcome and cordially invited to attend, as is anyone with interests in, or having questions about Free Masonry. Forest Lodge is located at 321 E. Main St. (Route 20), Fredonia.

Reservations needed for League of Women Voters luncheon

The League of Women Voters will hold its first of the year “hot topic luncheon.” The program will center on our local farming community,economic impact on our county, the 2019 Farm Bill and its implications, small versus industrial farms and climate change: impact and mitigation on farming. The event will take place on Jan. 29 at the Mustard Seed Restaurant on 31 E. Main St., Fredonia. The event will start at 11:30 a.m. with a meet and greet time followed by a luncheon and speakers. Reservations must be in by Jan. 22. Space is limited.

Speakers will include James Joy, Kaitlyn Whalen and Steve Rockcastle.

Menu options are chicken salad sandwich, Rachel sandwich and a vegetarian sandwich option. All include a cup of vegetarian soup, beverage and dessert. The cost is $15. Send reservations to schoenl@netsync.net by Jan. 22.

NCCCA banquet reservations needed

The Northern Chautauqua County Club Associates is planning its annual installation banquet Saturday, Jan. 25 at the Sheridan VFW, Route 20, Sheridan.

A cash bar will begin at 5 p.m., with dinner at 6 p.m.

Guest speaker will be NYS Senator George Borrello. Ray Rushbold will serve as emcee.

All invitations with dinner information have been sent out, and reservations must be made by Jan. 20. If your club did not receive your letter, or to make reservations, call Joe Rozen at 366-8137.
