Westfield Quilters’ Guild February meeting planned for today

This month’s meeting will be a work meeting for the 2020 comfort quilts. The event takes place on Thursday, Feb. 20 at 6 p.m. at the Westfield YWCA, 58 S. Portage St., Westfield. Four work stations will be set up in the meeting room, and supplies will be available for use. Bring your own machine and supplies if you prefer. If you have a comfort quilt in progress, feel free to bring it to work on; otherwise, kits and tops will be available. Happy quilting!

Revitalize Dunkirk meets tonight

Revitalize Dunkirk’s monthly meeting will take place tonight at 6:30 p.m. in the Large Conference Room, Fredonia Technology Incubator, 214 Central Ave., Dunkirk. All are welcome.

Welcome guest speaker Jill Meaux, Dunkirk’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Administrator. Come learn about the CDBG program and other projects that are underway. Following the speaker will be Revitalize Dunkirk board and committee reports, project updates, and time for public comments.

If interested in becoming a member of Revitalize Dunkirk, email RevitalizeDunkirk@gmail.com. Membership forms will also be on hand during the meeting.

Revitalize Dunkirk, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization with a mission of advocating for improved urban living by enhancing the city’s physical infrastructure, reinvigorating commerce, and boosting community pride and vision. The organization promotes projects to beautify the community through public landscaping and art, enhanced streetscapes, and community involvement, with a goal of increasing business, tourism and residential opportunities.

Revitalize Dunkirk meets at 6:30 on the third Thursday of each month, except December, at the Fredonia Technology Incubator. All members of the community are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Dunkirk High JROTC spaghetti dinner Sunday

The Dunkirk High School JROTC will be holding a spaghetti dinner Sunday, Feb. 23. The fundraiser starts at noon and runs until 4 p.m. at the American Legion Post 62, 211 Central Ave., Dunkirk. Tickets for the spaghetti dinner are $7 and are available pre-sale or at the door. To purchase pre-sale tickets, contact Sgt. Frank Torrain 366-9300 or ftorain@dunkirkcsd.org. In addition to the spaghetti dinner, there will be a bake sale and Chinese auction.
