Fredonia Farmers’ Market news

This week at the Fredonia Farmers’ Market, there will be a delicious butternut soup to try: easy, cheap, healthy, and the recipe will be available to take home.

Gong Gardens has fresh greens as well as salads, veg sushi and spring rolls. Vendors have lots of meats and eggs, baked goods and other yummy foods to get patrons through these dreary winter days.

Introduction to Pickleball Class set for Feb. 25

An “Introduction to Pickleball Class” will be held at St Anthony’s Gym (corner of Cushing and Orchard in Fredonia) on Tuesday, Feb. 25 at 6 p.m. There is no charge. Contact Ed Kirchmeyer at 432-6114 for further details. Registration is required. Class only holds 12 players. Bring a good pair of sneakers and something to re-hydrate yourself with.

Gowanda Moose towel raffle party set for Feb. 23

The Gowanda Moose Chapter 651, will hold a towel raffle party at the Gowanda Loyal Order of Moose 1382, 201 Aldrich St., Gowanda on Sunday, Feb. 23. Doors open at noon. The event runs from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Admission boards are $5, and extra boards are $1. There will be 100 towels and washcloths as well as other prizes to be won. Other activities include a Chinese auction, 50/50, a $.25 auction table, and door prizes. Lunch and refreshments will be available. For details, call 532-4882.

Zumba fitness

fund-raiser benefit for Jeremy Dolce set for Feb. 23

A Zumba fitness fundraiser benefit for Jeremy Dolce will take place on Sunday, Feb. 23 at the Fredonia Grange, 58 W. Main St., Fredonia. The doors will open at 11:30 a.m., with the sessions taking place 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Pre-sale tickets are $15, or can be purchased for $20 at the door. Instructors are Sue Chaffee, Lisa Barone, Jean Sutton and Jayme Delcamp. There will also be a silent auction and 50/50.

Trinity Episcopal Church Epiphany Tea

Join the Trinity Episcopal Church Women for their annual Epiphany Tea at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23 in Garland Hall, 11 Day St. Fredonia. Michele Stalwart from Partners In Kind will be presenting a short talk about the local organization and how all can help this group succeed in their goals to help people in need in the community. Traditional Epiphany Tea Cake and other goodies will be served as part of the tea following the talk. No need for hats and white gloves for this tea. It will be a relaxing yet informative Sunday afternoon.
