Village of Westfield closes offices

The Village of Westfield has closed their offices to the public. Payments can be made online, by mail or at our mail slot at the front of Eason Hall or our drive by drop box on the north side of the building. To contact any of the offices please call 326-4961 to listen for the department extension you are trying to contact. You may certainly email any requests or information if you know the correct email address; otherwise, please email your request to info@villageofwestfield.org and it will be routed to the correct staff member. Fredonia Farmers’ Market to open

The Fredonia Farmers’ Market will be having market this week, March 21, barring any new developments. Customers are welcome to call orders from their favorite vendors in ahead of time, and staff can bring it out to their cars. “We’ll also have several people available to take orders at your car and bring the items out. And of course, you are welcome to come in to shop (we promise not to hug you!),” said Kathleen Petersen, Market publicity chairperson. Vendors will be spacing the tables as far apart as possible.

Dunkirk Senior Center open from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, March 27

From 10 a.m. to noon Friday and March 27, the Dunkirk Senior Center will be open to allow participants to pick up books and puzzles. The center will be closed at all other times and other events will be rescheduled. Any questions call Nancy at 366-5203.

Chautauqua County has 20 people in precautionary quarantine

The Chautauqua County Health Department reports as of 5 p.m. today, March 18, there are currently 20 people in precautionary quarantine, and no cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed by lab testing.

Blood donations sought

The Chautauqua County Health Department report the blood supply at area local hospitals has been threatened by the pandemic. If you are healthy and eligible, it is safe to donate blood.

Lucas Ave. Recycling and Brush closed until further notice

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and in response to Chautauqua County’s decision to close the Transfer Station, Mayor Rosas and Public Works Director Woodbury are informing the public that the Lucas Avenue Recycling & Brush drop-off station will be temporarily closed until further notice. This is to ensure the safety of Residents and City Employees.

The curbside pick-up of recycling will continue as scheduled per the 2020 Curbside Collection Schedule.
