Sheridan Town Hall closed

Sheridan Town Hall is closed to the public. The Town Clerk will be available, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9-3 by phone only. The Town Assessor and Code Enforcement officer will be available by phone only. Bill payments may be mailed or placed in the drop boxes at the Town Hall. Call the town hall/clerk at 672-4174.

Ways to worship

The OBSERVER is not running its weekly church page during the current COVID-19 pandemic. If your church is holding activities, whether on line or the radio, please let the OBSERVER know and we will run them Saturdays. Please email editorial@observertoday.com with the information.

Bridge work may affect water

pressure

Due to the Matteson street bridge reconstruction project, residents on Matteson street, Bernett Drive and lower Chestnut Street may experience low water pressure for the duration of the project.

Fredonia to start flushing hydrants Sunday night

At 11 p.m. Sunday, April 5, the village of Fredonia will start flushing water mains and fire hydrants in and around the village. The flushing will be done from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. to minimize problems with water during the day.

The flushing will take two weeks, and during this process, residents may experience turbid water and reduced water pressure. The village recommends that residents check the quality of their water before doing laundry. Water will be safe for consumption throughout the process.

Fredonia Farmers’ Market open Saturday

The Fredonia Farmers’ Market will be open this Saturday, April 4, during regular hours from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Masonic Forest Lodge, 321 E. Main St., Fredonia. Vendors are spaced far apart and using precautions following NYS safety guidelines.

Portland, Pomfret Dunkirk Sewer Board Meeting

There will be a meeting of the Board of Directors for the Portland, Pomfret, Dunkirk Sewer District. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 7 at 10 a.m. Due to social distancing and the safety of the board and public, the meeting will take place in the parking lot of the Town of Dunkirk Town Hall at 4737 Willow Road, Dunkirk. The meeting is open to the public with all attending to follow State and County protocol of a minimum distance of six feet apart.
