Seeking Easter Sunday services

If your church is holding Easter Sunday activities, whether online, the radio, or some other way, please let the OBSERVER know by Friday at 10 a.m. and we will run them in Saturday’s edition. Please email editorial@observertoday.com with the information.

Portland Town Board to meet tonight

The Portland Board Meeting will be held today, April 8, at 7 p.m. at the Town Hall. Only essential business will be on the agenda — pay bills and open and award mowing bids. There will be no public comment. This meeting is limited regarding public attendance due to social distancing regarding COVID-19.

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Food Closet open Wednesdays

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Food Closet is located at 336 Washington Ave., Dunkirk. It is open Wednesdays 3-7 p.m.

The Food Closet provides emergency food for individuals and families experiencing nutrition insecurity. Identifying information and income eligibility is required. Streamlined methods are now in place to expedite this process during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Formula, diapers and baby food are available for eligible households with infants.

Clients are asked to comply with social distancing requirements.

Community members who wish to assist with this mission by volunteering or donating can call 679-9055.

Fredonia Farmers’ Market will be open

The Fredonia Farmers’ Market will be open this Saturday, April 11, during regular hours from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Masonic Forest Lodge, 321 E. Main St., Fredonia. Vendors are spaced far apart and using precautions following NYS safety guidelines. Vendors will continue to hold market as they have been for as long as needed. They want to stress that they are taking every precaution for safety while providing great foods to the public.

Access Chautauqua lists upcoming shows

Access Chautauqua has listed the following programming for April 11-17:

¯ “Rolling Hills Radio” features Sean Rowe and Andy Cohen at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.

¯ “Chautauqua Sunrise,” hosted by Doc Hamels, will have guest George Borrello, state senator from the 57th district. The program is live at 9 a.m. Saturday, then repeats at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.

¯ “Fresh Perspectives,” hosted by Gail Erb, will have Patty Benton and Heaven from Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue. The program is at 3 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Repeat programming is typically re-aired throughout the week at other various time slots.

All programming starts on Saturday, April 11 with the final airing on Friday, April 17.

Access Chautauqua, formerly Access Channel 5, is available to cable viewers in the Chautauqua, Mayville, North Harmony, Portland, Ripley, Sherman, and Westfield areas, and can be found on cable channel 1301.

The programs may also be viewed after the initial airing at the station’s website, https://accesschautauquacountytv.org.
