Senior Center of Dunkirk notes December events

Reservations are being taken through next week for the December birthday lunch on Wednesday, Dec. 16 at the Dunkirk Senior Center. Join the group on Thursday, Dec. 10 for Christmas caroling and some cookies. Attendees must sign up so that the organizers can keep track of the number of members attending. The casino trip on Dec. 19 has been canceled.

Dunkirk legion cancels meeting, plans events

Dunkirk Memorial American Legion Post 62 has announced its monthly meeting is canceled for December. The next meeting will be held on Jan. 6, 2021 at 7:30 p.m.

Dues for 2021 must be paid by Dec. 31 and can be paid either at the Post, mailed to 211 Central Ave., or online at mylegion.org. Donations are now being collected at Post 62 for the 2020 Blue Star Mothers NY Chapter Military Christmas Care Package Drive.

Both monetary and material donations can be dropped off during the Post’s temporary hours Wednesday through Saturday from 4 to 9 p.m. Chicken Wing Nite at the Post is available every Thursday from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Post 62 continues to follow New York state COVID-19 guidelines to keep our employees and members safe and would like to extend our best wishes for a safe holiday season.

Silver Creek Village Board to meet

SILVER CREEK — The Silver Creek Village Board will meet at 7 p.m. Monday. The meeting will take place by video or teleconference. Those interested in joining are asked to call the clerk’s office at 934-3240 for the codes.
