Pomfret taxes due today

Town Clerk Allison Vento on Wednesday offered a reminder that Pomfret 2021 town and county taxes are due today without penalty. Town Hall is currently closed to the public due to COVID-19. All payments can be mailed to: Town of Pomfret, 9 Day Street, Fredonia, NY 14063 or residents may utilize the secure, locked, drop box at the left of Town Hall door. Please enclose the bill with payment so a ‘PAID IN FULL’ receipt can be mailed back.

The following is the penalty schedule for the remainder of tax collection. From Feb. 5 to 28 with a 1% penalty; from March 1 to April 1, a 2% penalty.

Blood drive set for Feb. 9

An American Red Cross blood drive will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Williams Center at the State University at Fredonia. All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.
