Class of ’81 plans 40th anniversary
The Fredonia High School Class of 1981 will celebrate its 40th anniversary on July 23 and 24 with a social gathering at Coughlans’ pub on Friday and Dinner at Dimitri’s-on-the-Lake Saturday. Peaceful Soul Farmers’ Market
The Peaceful Soul Farmers’ Market is held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 11359 Southwestern Blvd., Irving. It features a variety of vendors.
Mayville Library book sale
The annual summer book sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Books for adults and children, DVDS and magazines will be available for purchase. Call 755-7362 for details.
St. Joseph’s bingo
Bingo takes place at St. Joseph’s parish, 145 E. Main St., Fredonia. Doors open at 5 p.m.; bingo begins at 7. Masks should be worn by those not vaccinated and social distancing will be observed.
Valley Historical Society meeting
The Valley Historical Society will meet in the Sinclairville Ball Park pavilion at 7 p.m. Betty Jean Ridout will be speaking on the history of the family of Richard Penhollow, a Revolutionary War soldier who settled in the town of Charlotte. Anyone interested in local history is invited to attend.

Laurel Memorial Run/Walk OBSERVER special edition sales
A special edition Laurel Memorial Run/Walk OBSERVER will be available at various locations, including all of the Tim Horton cafes in Chautauqua County between 6 and 10 a.m. Proceeds will benefit The Resource Center and Filling the Gap, Inc.
