Hanover water bills due

Town of Hanover water customers are reminded that Sept. 7 is the last penalty free day for payment of outstanding water bills. Payment can be made by mail, through the drop boxes located at both public entrances or in person at the Hanover Town Hall, 68 Hanover St., Silver Creek during normal business hours, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The office will be closed this Friday from 1-4 p.m. and on Monday, Sept. 6, in observance of Labor Day.

County Health Board to meet

MAYVILLE — The Chautauqua County Board of Health will hold its bimonthly meeting on Thursday, Sept. 16, at 6 p.m. in the HRC Building, B-14, basement level conference room, 7 N. Erie St., Mayville. Comments received from the public will be accepted as communications, and not read during privilege of the floor. Public comments at the meetings during the privilege of the floor must be made in person. Anyone not fully vaccinated against COVID-19 must wear a mask and social distance while in the building. Anyone seeking further information or wishing to attend this meeting should call the Public Health Director’s Office at 753-4590.

Harrington Road crossing repairs Tuesday

SHERIDAN — Railroad crews will be making repairs to the Harrington Road railroad crossing located in the town of Sheridan. Harrington Road will be closed to all traffic at the railroad crossing beginning at about 8 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, to about noon Friday, Sept. 10. A detour will not be posted. Motorists should plan on taking an alternate route.
