SUNY chancellor to make stop at Fredonia today

State University of New York Chancellor Jim Malatras will hold a pair of regional meetings today, including one at the State University of New York at Fredonia.

Malatras will attend a briefing with SUNY Fredonia President Dr. Stephen H. Kolison, Jr. on actions the campus is taking to address the surge in COVID positive cases around 3 p.m. As of this morning, the number of cases climbed by eight to 64, according to the university’s dashboard.

Since last weekend, the number of cases has risen by 62 to its current number. There has been one recovery while 63 of the cases are active.

Before coming to Fredonia, Malatras will be at the University at Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine with President Satish Tripathi, Buffalo State President Conway-Turner and Erie County Community College Interim President William D. Reuter on how campuses are working to contain the COVID virus.
