Silver Creek Elementary back to in-person learning

SILVER CREEK — Elementary instruction is resuming in-person on Thursday in the Silver Creek school district.

From Monday to Wednesday, instruction in the youngest grades went remote due to concerns surrounding COVID-19. In addition, the district has changed its schedule for Friday.

“We had planned this Friday, October 30 to be a half-day, but because of the unforeseen transition to remote learning this week, we will now hold a full day in session this Friday, October 30,” a Facebook post from the district stated.

“Please know that we recognize the difficulty that remote learning presents, combined with oftentimes difficulty associated with childcare, parent work schedules, etc. We will continually examine each scenario we are presented with, considering the variables involved and rest assured we desire students to be in person, in a safe environment as much as possible. We thank you for your continued support as we navigate these difficult and challenging learning environments. Our commitment remains to you, your children, and your families.”

Dunkirk School 7 also was set to return on Thursday after similar COVID-19 concerns.
