Pair charged following multiple thefts from Westfield business

WESTFIELD — Two men are facing larceny charges for allegedly stealing merchandise from a Westfield store over the course of two months.

The Westfield Police Department announced the arrests this week of 33-year-old Aaron C. Espersen of Portland and 31-year-old Mathew J. Mulville of Brocton.

The department for the last two months has been investigating thefts from Add Lumber True Value in Westfield. In a news release, Westfield police said Espersen and Mulville “on multiple dates” over two months entered the store, concealed merchandise in their clothing and walked out without paying.

In total, it is alleged that $158.25 worth of merchandise was taken by the pair.

Espersen is facing two petit larceny charges while Mulville is facing four counts of petit larceny. Both were issued tickets to appear in Westfield Town Court at a later date.
